Nationwide Local Ski Guide Dispatch & Booking
Whether you are staying at our high-alpine yurt lodges in Jyrgalan, organizing an expedition to Suusamyr / Too Ashuu, ski touring in Aksuu Gorge, exploring Boz-Uchuk, or doing high-altitude line laps at Arabel Plateau / Suyok Pass, having a certified local ski guide is vital for avalanche safety, complex route finding, and emergency response in Central Tien-Shan.
At SkiYurt.kg, we manage direct communication and dispatch with all recognized local ski guides communities across Kyrgyzstan. We can arrange an experienced, trusted mountain ski guide for your private group anywhere in the country.
Daily Rates & Pricing Structure
Local guide fees in Kyrgyzstan reflect the high level of regional snowpack knowledge, terrain management, and winter wilderness navigation required in untreated backcountry terrain:
- Guide Daily Fee: $200 – $290 USD / day (rates vary based on guide certification level, avalanche credentials, language fluency, and group complexity).
- Client Group Limit: Strictly maximum 5 persons per guide (1 guide : 1–5 clients) for safety and mountain terrain management.
Additional Expenses to Budget
In addition to the daily guide fee, the hiring group is responsible for covering:
- Guide First & Last Travel Days: If the guide travels from Bishkek or Karakol to a remote mountain base (e.g. Suusamyr, Arabel, or Jyrgalan), travel days are billed at the daily rate.
- Guide Transfers & Transport: Fuel, 4x4 mountain shuttles, or public transfer costs incurred to reach and return from the tour location.
- Lodging & Accommodation: Guide’s yurt bed, guesthouse, or refuge stay during the tour.
- Meals & Board: Full board meals (breakfast, packed trail lunches, dinner) provided to the guide during the assignment.
- Non-Skiing Days (Weather & Rest): Down days caused by heavy blizzards, storm hold-ups, zero-visibility conditions, or client rest/acclimatization days are paid at the full daily rate. The guide is on call and dedicated exclusively to your group.
The Reality of Guide Scarcity in Kyrgyzstan
The pool of certified, English-speaking, and truly trusted backcountry ski guides in Kyrgyzstan is very small (fewer than a few dozen qualified professionals nationwide).
[!WARNING] Scarcity Notice: If you wait until the end of November to search for a trusted ski guide for December, January, February, or March, virtually all experienced guides will already be fully booked for the entire winter season.
To secure a qualified guide for your preferred dates and mountain zone:
- Book Months in Advance: We strongly advise reserving your guide dates between May and October for the upcoming winter season.
- Prepayment Required: A booking prepayment is required to hold your guide’s calendar.
- Non-Refundable Policy: Because guides turn down other international groups once booked, guide prepayments are non-refundable.
